How To Properly Install Wall Fountains And Create A Table Top Fountain
Indoor wall fountains are truly captivating pieces that could animate the interiors of a home. These pieces are able to induce a relaxing environment through the aid of the sound produced by water rushing down the wall. More often than not, these water features are placed at the entry ways so that they could be immediately seen by visitors and family members alike. More than these places however, fountains could also be enjoyed in different areas around the house, which is in fact a better idea than just placing them in the entry ways.
To start building wall fountains make sure that you have the necessary tools such as drywall anchors, screw driver, a pencil, a drill and a hammer. Before you start hammering on your wall, read the instructions included in the package of your wall fountain first so that you will have an idea about the functions and set up of your water feature. Try to consider that there are some fountains that are already set up, and there are also others that have parts that needs to be connected before they can be actually put in place. Don’t fret though as majority of the connections needed to be done for unset fountains are all direct processes, making them easier to set up; however, it is always best to look at instructions to get to know things more because fountain models still vary from one another.
The next step to do is to find a flat wall surface where the water will cascade down, but a wall with ridges, curves or other patterns would also add visual interest once you place the fountain. Properly mark the wall where the fountain will be mounted so that you can properly position your water feature. Once you’re done marking the wall, decide on how you will hang your fountain. Wall fountains can be affixed in two ways: the first one is by creating small holes at the back of the fountain where you can drive in the screws, and the second option is by installing a bracket on the wall where you can simply hang the fountain.
Because the second option is always the easiest means to install a wall mounted fountain, the next step is to drill holes on the wall where you will place the anchors that will support the fountain brackets. When the anchors and brackets are already in place, carefully suspend your wall fountain. Before plugging, make sure you fill it with enough water until the pump is covered, but not full enough as the water might overflow from the edge of the basin. If all the things are set, you can now plug your wall fountain and enjoy its beautiful and stress relieving prowess.
If a wall fountain is too expensive for your budget, you can still have a water feature inside your home in the form of a tabletop fountain. This small water feature is a project that you will surely enjoy making. The materials you need are plastic tubing, a small water pump, decorative stones, and a bowl of your preferred size and design. To start with your project, place the pump in the bowl and then connect the plastic tubing to the pump.
Once you have placed the pump and tube inside, you can fill the bowl with your stone ornaments or other accents to make it more aesthetically appealing. These colorful stones can also camouflage your pump’s cord, but if the accents cannot do such, you can simply hide the cord by taping it on the side of the bowl and place some exterior accents. Fill the bowl with water until the pump is submerged. After doing this, you can now plug the cord and luxuriate in the flowing water of your very own tabletop fountain.
Wall fountains are water features that are not only decorative but are truly relaxing and comforting. With both its decorative and stress relieving prowess, many homeowners are now option for a wall mounted fountain inside their homes. If you want to have a water feature inside your home but cannot afford a wall fountain, you can simply make your own tabletop fountain, which is much easier to maintain and set up.
